Opening day is a special day for me, as all things are possible, - TopicsExpress

Opening day is a special day for me, as all things are possible, warmer weather is coming, and I can get back to one of my favorite pastimes. Baseball is a part of the fabric of my life. I didnt play it very well, but loved it. I was a pretty good umpire - loved that too. I remember sitting on the porch with my grandfather (the original Poppy) listening to Waite Hoyt during rain delays. Dad taking me out of school for opening day at Crosley Field, and the lemonade that was sold there. Burger Beer. Who wants to get moody with a Hudy? Save the day with 14K! Marty and Joe (and now, the Cowboy!) Sitting behind home at Riverfront in those great seats I used to have with my daughters as the camera flashed their sweet faces on Jumbo-tron. Driving from UK Law in Lexington to Fountain Square in what seemed like 20 minutes with Mike Dammert to celebrate the World Series win over the Sox. When game time rolls around this afternoon, Ill roll away from this computer, turn on the tube, and start talking back to Tommy B and the crafty lefthander. Going to the 1st business day game Thursday with, I think, Homer on the mound. Here we go!! as the song from the 60s went Rally round the Reds, boys, rally round the Reds, make this a season to remember. Rally round the Reds, boys, rally round the Reds, lets take the pennant in September!!.
