Opening for Research Fellows in Department of Botany, University of Delhi (WETLAND RELATED) Dear Young Researchers, The National Institute of Ecology (NIE) (nieindia.org/) is a major professional association engaged since 1980s in research, training and management in different areas of ecology and environment. Currently, the NIE is looking for suitable Junior/Senior research Fellows or post Doctoral fellows for its following two projects. APN-GCR (Japan)-funded Project on Capacity Building for Conservation of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of Wetlands Duration: 6 months only (until February 2015) The fellow will be required to conduct detailed literature search and prepare a comprehensive review of biodiversity and ecosystem services of wetlands, with emphasis on south and southeast Asian region. Qualification: M.Sc. ecology/environmental science with specialisation in wetlands. Mininum two years experience; preferably Ph.D. with very good scientific writing skills Fellowship: up to Rs 25,000 per month (fixed) acc. to qualification 2. Project on Economics of Wetland Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of River Ken - supported by GIZ, New Delhi and the Ministry of Environment and Forests, New Delhi, under the TEEB-India Initiative. Duration: only until April 2015 Involves extensive field work throughout the Ken river basin in M.P. and U.P., for biodiversity, river ecology (incl. hydrology), fisheries, agriculture and other landuse, local communities, ecotourism through various methods including PRA and questionnaire surveys. Base Station will be Khajuraho (M.P.) Qualification: minimum of Master’s degree in ecology, environmental science, agriculture, sociology, economics and similar disciplines relevant to the scope of the project, and an aptitude and ability for intensive field work.
