Opening up of the Federal Skilled Worker Program On May 1, 2014 Citizenship and Immigration Canada re-opened the federal skilled worker program. The program includes fifty different professions which are eligible under the program. Applicants who fall within one of the fifty professions can apply to immigrate to Canada without having a job offer. In addition to the requirement of falling within one of the fifty professions it is also necessary to accumulate 67 points which are allocated based on work experience, language, education, age, job offer, and adaptability.
