Operations Controller Location: Boksburg,Gauteng, South Africa Closing Date: 04 August 2013 Position Overview Permanent junior level position at Imperial Distribution in Distribution, Warehousing & Freight (Distribution) industry sitauted in Boksburg (Boksburg), South Africa (Gauteng). Benefits: Pension Fund, Medical Aid & Life Cover Specific Role Responsibilities Duel agent role to fulfill requirements for vehicle tracking and customer care • Ensuring optimal execution of the daily route plan through live / integrated vehicle tracking for all site vehicles against PLATO plan • Addressing of all variances against plan with drivers and customers & escalation where appropriate to driver debrief • Constantly liaise with customers to optimize delivery schedules and lower the secondary distribution cost base through the reduction of turnaround time at the customer back door • Measure on time delivery and turnaround time and reporting of deviations at a customer level on a daily basis • Ensure route compliance by route on a daily basis including immediate notification where appropriate, ensure that the following events are dealt with as governed by tracking procedure o Off route stops – resulting in increased customer deliveries per day and fewer routes (driver contracted & to be included in debrief report) o Off route travel – resulting in reduced vehicle kms per trip (driver to be contacted and to be included in debrief report) o Customer delays – resulting in increased customer deliveries per day & fewer routes (Customer & Driver to be contacted & to be included in customer delay report) o Out of sequence deliveries – to be included in the daily debrief report • Receiving calls from customers • Escalating queries to relevant parties in order to resolve queries within specified time periods • Working closely with the expediting department in order to resolve queries and assist with store delays • Providing excellent valuable service to customers • Following escalation guidelines in order to obtain necessary authorizations etc. • Partaking in outbound projects to stores • Reporting on any irate behavior from callers • Achieving KPI targets as set out by management Qualifications and Experience • Grade 12 or equivalent. • Excellent communication skills. • Candidates need to be familiar with MS Office and have a working knowledge of MS Excel. Skills and Personal Attributes • Resilient and enthusiastic (job requires continuous activity) • Ability to resolve problems, communicate clearly & have good interpersonal skills. Communication with drivers and customers is the crux of the job • Will be part of a diverse team so the ability to get on with a wide range of individuals is a key requisite • Willing to work shifts and extended hours- which include nightshift, weekends. public holidays etc. Note: Company relocating to Samrand in September 2013.
