Opinions WANTED: Sassy Sleever Yogurt Diet A yogurt diet plan, if used sensibly and combined with exercise, can assist dieters with losing weight, sometimes quickly. Yogurt is high in protein and low in fat, inexpensive and for the most part filling. At the Sassy Sleevers, our fearless leader and founder Amy Polozzolo clued many of us in on her use of the yogurt diet. Setting aside 1 or 2 days, Amy eats 4 to 5 servings of yogurt a day along with taking a multi vitamin and drinking lots and lots of water. Amy likes Fage Total O% Greek Style Yogurt. Each cup (8oz/227g) of Fage yogurt has 130 calories and 23g of protein. And now the fun begins with how many “Low Calorie” flavor combinations you can come up with to make your yogurt oh so yummy! Many of our Sassy Sleevers use Torani sugar free syrups. One of our site admins Texasmom Vsg (Robin) raves about her Torani syrups. She loves her sugar free syrups so much that she has an area in her kitchen dedicated to her Torani stash! For myself, I opt to use fresh fruit with a little bit of Splenda! I’ve even seen where a couple of our Sassy Sleevers are mixing a tablespoon of sugar free pudding into their yogurt for a low calorie, oh so delicious bowl of chocolate wonderfulness! Most of the Sassy Sleevers lost on an average 2 to 3 pounds a day while being on the diet. Now, most of the weight loss is water weight, but the yogurt diet gives you an opportunity to “reset” your sleeve by helping to shrink your stomach. This is a short term diet; used to either jump start a weight loss program or to lose a of couple of pounds that you put on while on vacation or just living life. Oh, and don’t forget a minimum of 64 ounces of water daily. If the weather is extremely hot, increase your water consumption by an additional 10 to 20% Now with any diet we ask that you take a responsible approach and consult your medical doctor. Here’s the Sassy Sleever’s Yogurt diet: • 1 cup (8oz/226g) of Fat Free Yogurt Flavored with Sugar Free Syrups or Sweeteners. Most of us are using FAGE Total 0% Greek Style Yogurt. • Up to 2 cups of fruit a day can be mixed into your yogurt. Apples and berries are best • Drink 64 - 100 oz of water daily • Eat at least every 3 hours • Nothing else is permitted! You are basically having 4 to 5 servings of yogurt during the day mixed with fruit. Each serving is apx. 200 calories! Good Luck and don’t forget to tell us how you did! Diane M VSG (Admin)
