Opinions/What do you think ? As part of the job hunt/nightmare, Im looking at expatriate positions overseas. Filled out an application last week from a web site I found and seemed legit enough (Overseas Research Consulting). Indicated someone will call me back to discuss. A call came in a few hours ago from a woman who was not particularly customer service savvy, wanting to talk about my application. Ten minutes of basic discussion/review. Then a script (she was clearly reading) that lead to the hook of a $250 fee to get started with the process, and all this great stuff that would be of benefit (your overseas resume to the top ! We will help you make a resume with all the right buzz words ! We have special contacts that no one else has ! You need to use us !) A red alert went off in my head and I immediately took the discussion over, asked for her name and employee ID, phone number, etc. Then cut the call. Does this sound legit or more like a con/scam ?
