Opposition Leader Dr. Hubert Minnis yesterday asked that the government investigate an allegation that thousands of voter’s cards were stolen from the Parliamentary Registration Department. As he concluded his contribution to the Electricity and Renewable Energy Amendment Bill, Minnis said he was advised of the theft of “hundreds, if not thousands, of voter’s cards”. “I would like to have an update on that because not only were the cards stolen, but so was the government seal,” he said. “I need to know and the public must know how many cards were stolen and the numbers of the cards in terms of sequence, so that these cards would not show up at a later date. “I’d like to have a report on the stolen cards, so as to ensure transparency moving forward.”
