Oppositional defiance disorder is not the same as freethought. Ive seen ODD in action, and its definitely an illness. This article is being sensationalist by associating ODD with freethinking. Were talking about children, for example, who disrupt class, attack their teachers and refuse to learn or participate. Thats very different from a child who might question the existence of an all-powerful good God in charge of everything when there is so much suffering. That sort of LOGIC is what I would consider freethinking or freethought. But I would agree that ODD seems to be on the rise.
