Oracle DBA for KSA Job Description Role Purpose: Manage and administer the company’s databases independent and in cluster environment using storage area network across the organization. Assist Infrastructure manager in planning and budgeting to ensure that business critical application database services are up to date and fulfill the entire organization information needs. The incumbent is responsible for managing database within Saudi Arabia and Yemen Accountabilities: 1. Implement and discipline IT policies and procedures, assists Infrastructure manager in developing and maintaining the IT continuity planning document. 2. Coordinate/liaise with vendor by defining Service Level Agreement to monitor and track vendor performance and provide the company with the expected level of service and response time. 3. Install, configure, manage and maintain database on companywide servers. 4. Developing, implementing, and periodically testing a backup and recovery plan for the databases. 5. Responsibility for making sure that the backups are being done as scheduled and that they include all the files needed to make database recovery possible after a failure. 6. When failures occur, the DBA should use the backups to return the database to operational status as quickly as possible, without losing any transactions that were committed. 7. There are several ways the database can fail, and the DBA must have a strategy to recover from each. From a business standpoint, there is a cost to doing backups, and the DBA makes management aware of the cost/risk tradeoffs of various backup methods. 8. Configure and maintain Disaster Recovery setup for database. 9. The DBA is responsible for three basic security tasks that are authentication (setting up user accounts to control logins to the database), authorization (setting permissions on various parts of the database), and auditing (tracking who did what with the database). 10. to monitoring the database server on a regular basis to identify bottlenecks (parts of the system that are slowing down processing) and remedy them. Tuning a database server is done on multiple levels. 11. Update and document database clusters for all locations and maintain general one for entire network. 12. Follow change management process before applying changes to any components or configuration on database 13. Record all database outage with time to measure the service availability 14. Coordinate with other IT groups like Security, network admin, application etc. to ensure the service is delivering as per SLA Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computers or related field • Certified ORACLE Database Administrator • 3+ years of hands-on experience in managing ORACLE database servers • Strong knowledge and understanding of ORACLE cluster servers and high availability • Strong communications and negotiation skills • High level of initiative and dedication • Innovative and energetic, continuously research on replication, and backup technologies • Cost and quality conscious and continuously investigating ways and means to improve downtime • Competent enough to configure, tune ORACLE servers in clusters and storage area network environment • Practical knowledge of managing ORACLE 11G multiple database servers Period of Contract: 1 year , if interested send your CV at hr@ritsol with Oracle DBA as a title
