Ord. Wk 28th. Saturday, 19 October 2013 Proud of our Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus commends those who dare to declare Him openly as divine and live the Good News that He proclaimed. But, if we easily compromise the Truth of our faith because we want to be accepted or win the favour of others, then we have “sold” God for our selfish needs. What is God saying to you today? Lk 12:8-12 Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I tell you, if anyone openly declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, the Son of man will declare himself for him in the presence of Gods angels. But anyone who disowns me in the presence of human beings will be disowned in the presence of Gods angels. ‘Everyone who says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven, but no one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven. ‘When they take you before synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say, because when the time comes, the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.’ (via DGems App - jesuit.org.sg)
