Oregon friends, a few people have written asking what I think of Measure 91, legalizing Cannabis. After some review I would give it a YES vote, as the measure clearly states it retains medical marijuana laws, governed by the Oregon Health Authority. This is important, as the recreational ordinances are under the administration of the Oregon Liquor Board - a Federal agency that does not (yet) recognize cannabis as medicine. This is Washington States 502 Initiatives downfall, as its State shops arent allowed say its medicine or help potential patients with ailments. Actually, this one is better than Washington, as it allows every citizen to grow four plants for recreation. Let them call it recreation and grow your medicine. Washington State disallows anyone but State growers to supply its State recreation shops. There are warts, but overall Id say let it pass and work out the bugs later.
