Organized Retail Theft Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are seeking the publics assistance in locating a couple who have committed several thefts from retail stores in several counties throughout North Carolina and have escalated to Organized Retail Theft. The couple has been identified as Travis Dale Babson (W/M, 30 years of age) and Megan Kathleen Carmichael (W/F, 21 years of age), both of 167 Marion Drive in Saint Pauls, NC. Babson and Carmichael may be operating a white 2008 Nissan Frontier as they commit these offenses. Both individuals have several felony and misdemeanors warrants on file and are known to frequent Walmart, CVS and Lowes. Organized Retail Crime refers to professional shoplifting, cargo theft, retail crime rings and other organized crime occurring in retail environments. The FBI has estimated that the losses attributed to organized retail crime could reach as much as $30 billion a year. These criminals move from store to store and even city to city. While working in teams, the suspects create distractions while another suspect steals everything from infant formula to electronics. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Travis Babson or Megan Carmichael, is asked to contact Sergeant J.
