Original Letter to The Province (Vancouver, B.C.) Subject: #Abbotsford Homeless Its hard to believe how degrading we can be when it comes to the Down and Outs of are society. For the city of Abbotsford to offer to set a nice place for the homeless by the dump, where they can live beside the constant stench of rotting garbage. Where the can listen and try to avoid a constant parade of trucks and everything else that makes dust and mud ruts, is nothing less than cruelty. Why not offer them a place right in the dump, like Mexico City? The people that make these decisions, are the same ones, and I guarantee you, that they treat their pets with more respect. Then they have the nerve to wonder why the homeless act out, when a lot of them are challenged as well as destitute. You can spend a life time climbing to the top, but remember, it only takes less than a minute sometimes to loose everything and hit bottom. Imagine what that would be like if you had no family or support system to back you up. Then somebody has the nerve to offer you a place at the dump. Shame on all of you. Art Green, Hope, BC
