Originally, I was to fly to Maryland this past weekend to meet with one of my couples on the ship on which they will be getting married in August - I LOVE CRUISE WEDDINGS! With multiple town issues with important deadlines, I truly appreciate Becca (an FPU alumnus) and Clays flexibility as we reschedule our meeting til the end of the month. Ironically, I booked a wedding for another DC couple this week, so this postponement allows me to have the opportunity to meet these grooms too; both are in the Foreign Service and will be departing shortly after their June wedding. Although I am extremely excited to spend Memorial Day working and reflecting while visiting our nations capital, I am sad to post that I shall not to be able to enjoy Fitzwilliams town parade and ceremony firsthand. With one of my favorite bands, the MRHS Marching Band, many of our local military heroes, caring public servants and motivated youth organizations marching, Diva and I enjoy watching each year, particularly all of the decorated bikes for the bike parade. Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers who organize this event, rain or shine. It was an incredible joy to approve my first parade permit since my election - hometown pride.
