Originally typed this as a reply to a facebook status but decided this much text would probably seem rude in context so: have you considered the potential for bad grammar constituting a subversive act -- have you considered that the arbiters of correct spelling on electronic devices are invariably corporations with discernible agendas and the will to re-shape public discourse into a sphere more congenial to themselves at the cost of diversity -- if machines are allowed to accrete a definitive canon of "correct English" (a concept which despite four hundred years of dictionaries has nevertheless failed to congeal in the absence of a statist governing body like the academie francaise and its ilk in Sweeden and elsewhere) then the process of corruption through use which has yielded nearly every coinage and made English one of the most dense languages in the world in terms of vocabulary would be severed at the root. The roots of an inevitable tragedy.
