Orji Uzor Kalu Condemns The Terror Attack on Students in Yobe “I am appalled by the deplorable actions carried out today at the College of Agriculture in Yobe State, no doubt executed by militant extremist forces", former Governor of Abia State and 2007 Nigerian Presidential candidate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu stated while on a business tour in Johannesburg, South Africa. "It is simply unacceptable that at-present, Nigerian students in the Northeast are put in the position of our security forces; each adhering to their daily duties while all the while cognizant of the fact that they may be, in some twisted sense of Boko Haram- ‘justifiability’, targeted for doing so. Access to quality education is the fundamental right of Nigerians countrywide. In a sector so desperately in need of overarching reform, security from the threat of terrorism is but another arrow in the quiver of Nigeria’s myriad challenges.
