Orkney is about to play its part in a major celebration of Scottish art over the past twenty-five years. The pier Arts Centre is one of a number of venues across the country hosting the GENERATION exhibition. Artists Zoe Walker and Neil Bromwich have become hugely successful. The pair first worked together in Orkney fifteen years ago, and have returned with a large body of work called Orcadia and Other Stories. Fionn has been speaking to them both. Heres a link to a longer version of this mornings broadcast interview. Orcadia and Other Stories opens this Saturday at the Pier Arts Centre along with the exhibition MICROMEGAS. They both run until August. And Mark Butcher the management consultant will be in Orkney during Shopping Week and theyre looking to recruit folk to take part in the game. Neil and Zoe are also developing a new sculptural/performance work to be launched during Shopping Week. A meeting will be held with the artists this Sunday from 2.30 - 4 at the Pier.
