Oro Valley Police Explorers win in competition ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (July 23, 2013 ) - The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) is proud to announce the results of the Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisors Association Competition. The event was held in Denver, Colarado, where twenty-two different Explorer Posts from throughout the United States competed in a variety of law enforcement scenarios over the course of three days. The Oro Valley Explorer Post placed in the following scenarios: 1st and 5th Place - High Risk Stops (Two Teams) 1st, 3rd and 5th Place - Domestic Violence (Three Teams) 3rd Place - High Risk Entries 3rd and 4th Place - Hostage Negotiations (Two Teams) 4th Place - Female Obstacle Course 5th Place - Knock and Talk The Explorer Post consists of teenagers between the ages of 14-20 who participate in drills and trainings that allow them to be exposed to the law enforcement profession.
