Orthodox Jews State: Occupation of Palestine Causes Anti-Semitism On Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 the United Nations General Assembly will hold an informal meeting on the growth of anti-Semitism, in response to a request from dozens of nations, including the State of Israel, the United States and all European Union members. During the meeting, anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews will be standing in front of the U.N. Headquarters, at the corner of 1st Avenue and 43rd Street in New York City, from 1 to 2:30 pm, to express their opinion on the subject under discussion. “We thank the Almighty for inspiring the nations of the world to take a stand against anti-Semitism, and we express our appreciation to the nations for their noble efforts,” said Rabbi Moshe Beck, a holocaust survivor, the group’s leader. “May the Almighty bless them and crown their efforts with success. “To have a complete understanding of the current problem, it is necessary to be aware of an important issue. Just as a doctor needs to know the cause of a sickness before prescribing medicine, we need to know the cause of today’s anti-Semitism before we can address it. “The view of true religious Jews around the world is that the occupation of Palestine – the founding of a state in the country already inhabited by the Palestinian people, pulling the ground out from under their feet with various methods, and the stubborn, 70-year-long occupation, from Deir Yassin to Gaza – that is the [a great] cause of today’s [exacerbation of] anti-Semitism. “Our greatest Rabbis were fundamentally opposed to the Zionist philosophy of rehabilitating the Jewish people as an independent nation, from the first moment it was proposed, because it was against the Jewish faith and Torah. They warned that the end result of this new movement would be what we see today, after 150 years of Zionism and 70 years of existence of their state – one long chain of tragedies and bloodshed for both Jews and non-Jews. “Now the world is gathering to sound the alarm about rising anti-Semitism, while at the same time ensuring the continued existence of that stubborn cause of anti-Semitism. The Zionists cry to the world to put out the fire, while they continue to pour gasoline on it. “But true Jews around the world, as always, proclaim that they do not recognize the Zionist movement or its state and the actions that emanate from it. Its actions have nothing whatsoever to do with Jews or Judaism.” Rabbi Beck explained. In conclusion the Rabbi extended his prayer “We pray for the end of the ideology of Zionism and the speedy, peaceful and total dismantlement of its creation, the Zionist State of Israel. And untimely we pray for the day when the Almighty will reveal His glory throughout the world, and all humankind will join in serving Him in peace and brotherhood. Amen.” Rabbi Moshe Dov Beck will be present at the demonstration and available for interviews. Or you may contact Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss for other interview arraignments.
