Oscar. I said from the outset I believed he was guilty of something - it was up to the court to decide what. Judge Masipa is an extremely experienced judge, and was assisted by two assessors, both highly qualified. Between them, they found that the state had not proven their murder case beyond any reasonable doubt. The sentence handed down is five years. If, and it is a huge if, Oscars behaviour in jail warrants it, he may be released in 10 months to serve out the rest of his time under correctional supervision. He has been found unfit to own or handle a firearm. He has sold his properties to pay his legal bills. He has lost his sponsors and his career. His fame has turned to notoriety. His fellow inmates are unlikely to treat him with much love and respect when he is in the big house. We have no option but to trust the legal system, and to accept the verdict and the sentence. The state may appeal if they believe that another court will arrive at a different decision based on the evidence. That may also work against them - as it may if his defence appeals. Lets get back to real life now.
