Oscars Story: Though he may look tough and grizzled, Oscar is actually a rather fearful boy who has found his new, confined existence rather difficult to cope with - particularly when he is surrounded by cats with whom he is unfamiliar. As a result, Oscar has become quite stressed and really needs a loving, patient owner who can give him the time and affection that he truly needs. Regrettably, much of Oscars ten-years have been much tougher than he wouldve liked - having strayed for a number of years after leaving home - and he bears the hallmarks of a difficult life. His ears look much the worse for wear, as though hes had a fair few arguments with other cats in the past, and, when he came into us, he had a large abscess on the side of his neck. This has since been removed, but has left a large open wound which has had to be bathed twice daily throughout his stay with us. As you can imagine, having to put up with such pain over an extended period of time has been quite unpleasant for this unlucky chap, thus making him more stressed. As a consequence of his difficult life so-far, Oscar can be a little grumpy on occasion and likes to be left alone sometimes, but if you approach him calmly and are patient then you will find a very laid-back, affectionate cat who is very happy to take treats and to relax in your arms. All he needs is a little loving and he will make an absolutely delightful pet for the right owner. Oscar would be best placed as an only pet, so he can have all the love and attention for himself, and would ideally only be rehomed with children who are 15 and older. He really needs a nice, quiet home without the stresses associated with a cattery environment - and an owner who is patient and willing to help this handsome fella come out of his shell. So dont be put off by his grumpy demeanour, Oscar is a loving cat who simply needs the right opportunity to show it, so please give him a chance.
