Osun 2014: LP party counsels against litigation The National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, on Monday advised all stakeholders in the Osun gubernatorial election to shun unnecessary litigations and accept the outcome of the election. Nwanyanwu gave the advice in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on the conduct of the Aug. 10 governorship poll in Osun. According to Nwanyanwu, the era of going to tribunal to challenge election even when there is no need for that is over in the country’s polity. ``When something is clear you don’t need torch light to see it. The era of going to tribunal to challenge every election result is over. ``Let everybody go back to the drawing board and prepare better in future election, including those at the tribunal on Ekiti election, which also was free and fair,’’ he counselled. The chairman said that there was no need to waste resources, and time of the judiciary and elected persons whenever the electorate speak. Nwanyanwu explained that it would be an unnecessary distraction not to allow genuine winners of elections to deliver democracy dividends to the people by going to the courts. ``Our party is dynamic. When something good comes, no matter where it comes from, we appreciate it. And when something bad comes, we condemn it. ``We therefore join the people of Osun state and other Nigerians in congratulating Aregbesola for the confidence the people have in him by returning him as their governor,” he said. He enjoined other contestants in the Osun gubernatorial election to support the re-elected governor to move the state forward.
