Osun PDP chides ACN over comments. Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the recent outburst of the state chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as the ranting of a failed political party. Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, in a release made available to the Nigerian Tribune, described the ACN’s statements that the PDP had been peddling lies about the achievements of Governor Rauf Aregbesola and that it had no credible governorship aspirant as misguided and careless. This is just as the party called on its national headquarters to call the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, to order “on statements he makes whenever he is a guest of Aregbesola,” noting that Tambuwal’s actions raised doubts about his commitment to the PDP. He also noted that contrary to the uninformed and puerile statement made by the ACN’s director of publicity and research, Kunle Oyatomi, “the PDP parades a set of refined, visionary and intelligent people, who are full of integrity as governorship aspirants and they have all it takes to unseat Aregbesola.” In a related development, the PDP chairman described the tablet of knowledge recently launched by the Aregbesola-led administration as a conduit pipe to siphon the meagre resources of the state, calling on the governor to come out openly and tell the world the link between Opon Imo and Kabiru Aregbesola, his son.
