Osun poll: Police warn miscreants Less than 24 hours to Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Osun, the police have warned miscreants against engaging in unlawful acts. Mrs Folashade Odoro, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Osogbo. The spokesperson said the constitutional role of the police was well spelt out, adding that it was not a partisan institution. We are not partisan, anybody may say whatever he or she likes. The position of the police is clear. The police is duty bound to protect law abiding citizens and to apprehend those who flout the law,’’ she said. Odoro also dismissed a report that a journalist, Mr Ayodeji Moradeyo, and a cameraman, Binafia Miebi, all staff of Television Continental, were arrested on Thursday. The spokesperson said the duo had gone to a party secretariat where they were refused entrance. She said the duo were assaulted in the ensuing melee, adding that the police eventually rescued the journalists. Actually, the police had to come to their rescue in the process,but they were not arrested. `` They even appreciated the efforts of the police at the end of the day, she added
