Other health news: 1) India will soon have separate guidelines for eye donations and transplantation. The Union health ministry, in its bid to augment eye donations in the country, has set up a committee, headed by the chief of R P Eye Centre at AIIMS, Dr R V Azad, to frame new rules which will separate eye retrieval and transplant from organ donations. 2) Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki has urged elected representatives to play a proactive role in creating awareness on HIV and AIDS and asked them to incorporate the topic in their public addresses. 3) London: Scientists have developed a pill to prevent Delhi belly - a condition that causes cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea due to intake of contaminated food and water - in those travelling to India and other tropical countries. 4) The World Health Assembly recently agreed a new global target of a 40 per cent reduction in the number of stunted children by 2025.World leaders signed a global agreement to fight malnutrition in children, and made commitments of up to USD 4.15 billion to tackle the global menace and reduce the number of child deaths.
