Other side of Canal opposite to APC, nr. Khavdhari streat, Jalia talavadi, nr. Maruti pan. At this side, just 2 feet away of this dirty canal one of the oldest and largest place, famous for food corner - Bhaji Pav, Idli Dhosa, Chinees, Ice cream corner everything is available here and hundred of people everyday come here for out eating in Vallabh Vidyanagar. There is vegetable vendor selling fresh vegetable and tea corner also on the front of this canal. 10 % result has been achieved to clean this most controversial canal (APC side), vulnerable to disaster of disease and damaging the public health. Efforts has been made with the help of many government and non government agencies. Considering to the detail study of this canal as problem, it has been found that once upon time it was totally clean and flow like clean river where people used to even take bath and use water to drink. But now this canal opp. Akshar Purshotam Chhatralay which is the way towards Sardar Patel University colony become a multifaceted and multidimensional problem. 1. Identification of jurisdiction Anand or Vallabh Vidyanagar 2. This matter is with irrigation department 3. There is threat that if it is cleaned, some people may encroached land 4. Many people constantly dumping their waste in this canal everyday 4. On other side of the canal that is Khavdhari Gali/Maruti Pan side water is passing but if dirty water of APC side flow to other side what will happen, is it right solution? 5. Till the date whatever efforts have been made it was purely temporary solution, Nobody still try to solve this problem with permanent solution. 6. Even as part of solution people make it more dirty by poring wastes 7. Balm game is happening, everybody is blaming each other and same people strongly claim to prove that they are doing their level best to solve this problem 8. The beauty and height of pity is that those who are suffering every day because of this dirty canal, they are not ready to initiate anything, they rather enjoy discussing this problem I think this is the problem everywhere in India, not only in terms of waste management but also at every sphere of life. We have make the governance so complicated that when we try we never have conviction that this problem can be solved and with this kind of Hippocratic approach we may have short term solution but not long term sustainability. Lets hope for best. There is a will, There is a Way.
