Otuoma, Ababu bury their differences, promise to work together for the sake of ODM Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General and Vice chair Ababu Namwamba and Dr. Paul Otuoma have put aside their political differences that threatened to rift the party and promised to work together. Speaking yesterday at Marenga Beach in Budalangi during the Bunyala cultural festivals that marked the end of a three days investors conference, the two said they have decided to work together and make ODM stronger, “Those who were waiting to see Otuoma and I differ completely are wrong, you will wait until Jesus come back but you will never see us parting ways,” said Namwamba adding, “I have talked to my brother Otuoma and we have agreed that we work together to make our party stronger and more relevant.” Otuoma said although he had also sought ODM’s top leadership, he was ready to work with Namwamba for the betterment of the party. He however challenged all ODM leaders across the country to ensure they tackle a myriad of challenges facing the party, a challenge Namwamba welcomed positively, “I am now the Secretary General of ODM, the largest and strongest party south of Sahara and north of Limpopo, it’s my mission to strengthen this party and involve everybody in this process.” Namwamba who is the Budalangi MP challenged Budalangi residents to rise to the occasion and appreciate the honour given to them, “Coming from Budalangi, you people are the most privileged and you must be on the forefront in terms of strengthening this party, if you are someone who has no stance, start looking for your own party today because we are not going to walk with people who are not firm.” The two neighbor MPs took different directions during the ODM party Kasarani aborted elections that were brought to unceremonious end with Namwamba seeking party’s Secretary General post and Otuoma the party chairperson. But the recent appointment made by the party top organ which seems to favor the Namwamba-Joho camp making him the secretary General and gave Otuoma and his allies in the second camp lesser post of vice party chair, soured the relationship between the two groups and Namwamba and Otuoma in particular. Shortly after the appointment, Otuoma and his team disowned it calling on party leader Raila Odinga to allow democracy prevail in the party by allowing members to choose leaders of their choice. But yesterday he made a resolution to support Namwamba and said in vernacular, “Omanyire nocha okhuima khasovoreranga sa vuri mundu wundi, mukutanirangasa ewene eyo. Nano ese ndacha oyima nekhandi Ababu yesi khane yari achire nami khwamala khwakutanira mukhuyima lakini marire nimbola mbwe niye nga luyanyola siyari achire oyima, yuma haja yefwe okhusolana, khumuunge omuhono khukhorere alala ili khukasye esyama syefwe.” “You know, when one goes to hunt, he does not tell everybody. I went to hunt and Ababu had also gone to hunt and we met there. But we have seen no need to differ because of that, and have decided to support him and work together to strengthen our party.
