Our 16-month old Shepherd doesnt have a lot of words and is just coasting through life with his ridiculously precious and innocent smile. And so I really shouldnt have been too nervous about taking him to the movies with us this afternoon (Paddington. LOVE!!!), but nervous is my schtick. So I was fluttering around, trying to get all the kids situated on the movie theatre booster seats, passing out popcorn, praying that we wouldnt annoy the other four people in the theatre, and finally, right before the movie started, I took Shep out of Gideons lap and locked him into his little portable high chair in the seat to my right. He was looking around the dimly lit room with mild curiosity, his big, pink pacifier (long story) stuck in his mouth, but there was this anxious pit in my stomach that he would rain on our parade and Id soon be chasing him up and down the long hallway outside for the length of the movie. Thus, I almost MELTED into my theatre seat when, after the first preview played and the screen turned to black, I looked over and saw him staring straight ahead, riveted, and doing sign language for more. The boy slays me. Cant. handle. the. sweetness. p.s. He sat through that entire movie! The Happy Meal we brought along helped. ;)
