Our 1st and 14th amendments guarantee us the freedom of religion. One would think that Muslims should be given this same privilege in this country. However, I contend that they shouldnt because each and every Muslim wants to be governed by Sharia law, not the law of this land. Their religion insists on being governed by a theocracy. Because of their teachings they are inherently an enemy of the state. How can you ever have the separation of church and state if the Muslims have their way in our country? If you read our history the 1st and 14th amendments were created to resolve differences between Protestants and Catholics. Muslims were never considered during those discussions so why is this country applying these two amendments to any other non-Christian religion? Perhaps we need a new amendment?
