Our 2014 Year-End Report details some of our accomplishments this year. We realize there is still much to do and we appreciate any and all feedback/ideas to improve, and eagerly encourage volunteers to help us do more! Everything we do is acted upon with one thought in mind: How does this help the kids? 2014 Year-End Report * Strengthened fiscal responsibility * Doubled previous sponsorships from 2013; connecting with new sponsors from community never previously contacted, while solidifying existing sponsor relationships * New, financial partnerships with the Boston Red Sox, Dicks Sporting Goods, Modell’s and others * New equipment for T-ball/Instruction divisions, including bats, helmets, catchers equipment, batting tees * New catchers equipment, bats for some Minors/Majors teams * Purchased new uniform jerseys for one Majors teams ($1500+) * New contract with new concessionaire, adding income to league and wider variety of menu * New contracts with landscapers and field maintenance * New umpire contracts * Added PLL alumni to umpire positions * Established committees for more efficiency and accountability, including Groundskeeping, Finance, Sponsorship, Elections, Communications * Restored/replaced/painted rotted wood for dugouts, sheds, scoreboard boxes, added new flags * Sold over 240 Corrib Raffle Tickets – more than 4X last years amount * Created a Facebook page for more connection with the community, alumni * Promote kids achievements on website with “This Week In PLL” * Instituted Parkway Travel as a paid tenant to PLL with ALL profits returning to PLL; and increased registrations with over 120 kids * Reconstructed Bunker Field, infield, pitcher’s mound and outfield with laser guided measurements to level outfield * Established annual Coaches Survey for parents to improve accountability Offseason Goals: * Installing new batting cage netting, fixing batting cage batter’s boxes * Create annual fundraiser in spring (Opening Night Bash) * Re-establish Bunker Bricks Walk of Fame” for capital improvements * Install gravel to parking lots (Crushed Stone is donating material to end the Dust Storms!) * NEW Uniforms for more Majors teams * NEW equipment AND uniforms for Minors * Increase sponsorships * Create mandatory “Coaches the Coach” Clinics * Create more players clinics * Establish Parkway Tournaments * Establish a Fall Ball league (Sept.) * Buy full or partial tarps for the fields to help prevent rainouts * Buy new PA systems for Praught and Bunker * Strengthen ties to city: add Mayor’s Cup teams (older divisions), add games to Complex * Create ongoing charity event/program (Jimmy Fund, ) Let’s hear your ideas for improvements, on or off the field, to make PLL the best league in the state!
