Our 3RD Congressional District is a huge district to travel. I have visited many of these counties. Everyone is concerned about keeping Obama out of our school curriculum. I plan to do this once elected. LOCAL CONTROL and SCHOOL CHOICE ARE the only way to go. PLEASE VOTE FOR DR. BARBARA ANN SMITH FOR COLORADO STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION IN 2014. CAUCUSES ARE MARCH 4, 2014, AND THE 3RD CONGRESSIONAL ASSEMBLY IS APRIL 11, 2014. The dates for the county assemblies are up to your county board members. PLEASE be a DELEGATE for me. I WILL WORK VERY HARD to preserve our sacred Republican values of LIMITED GOVERNMENT, FISCAL AN PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES, and FREE MAKETS. We owe it to our kids to leave them with a legacy of a great education that will prepare them for A COLLEGE/TECHNICAL SCHOOL AND A SOLID CAREER. I am talking about the BASICS and 21st CENTURY technical skills. 1 out of 4 third graders do not read at grade level, 25% of our freshman college students need reading and /or math remediation, the United States is 17th in reading on international tests (PISA). Our children and grand children deserve better. I will decrease these percentages and level the playing field by insuring a powerful curriculum for all students in the 3rd Congressional District without raising taxes. Also, I WILL ENCOURAGE LOCAL CONTROL AND SCHOOL CHOICE FOR ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
