Our A&E department has seen a marked rise in attendance over the weekend and is extremely busy. Please can we ask that you only attend the department if you have an emergency. We do appreciate that getting a GP appointment over the Christmas period can sometimes be difficult but if you have a minor aliment such as cough, cold, chest infection, tonsillitis, sprain etc please can you visit a pharmacist or wait until you can be seen by your GP. This helps us to dedicate more time to those who are seriously ill. Thank you.
