Our African spotted-neck otter pup, born on July 27, is now making a splash with its mom on display in the African rainforest of the Lied Jungle®, and loving every minute of it! Spotted-neck otter pups remain in their dens, where they are born, for the first two to three months after birth. When theyre ready to venture on their own, the pups will start to learn how to swim and fish from their mothers. Let the swimming and fishing lessons begin! Whats even more exciting: This birth is one of only two others that occurred this year among a network of eight Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited institutions that house the species.
