Our Chief Medical Advisor, Dr Alan Hakim is featuring in two episodes of What Have I Got? on the TLC network. Each episode will feature three individuals suffering from medical ailments who will share their symptoms in a series of carefully crafted clues. It is then up to the viewer, Dr. Nick and other medical experts to suggest a diagnosis and recommend possible treatment to the patients. The series will highlight the work of medical teams as it uses graphics to prompt the viewer in the diagnosis process; suggesting possible causes and eliminating them as further symptoms are explained. The actual diagnosis will then be revealed by the expert at hand. The show will also follow the patients to show their progress seeking treatments and cures for their conditions. Dr. Nick is a junior doctor currently working in General Practice. Earlier this year he gave his expert analysis of the contestants on The Island with Bear Grylls for Channel 4 and writes a regular column for independent.co.uk “What Have I Got?” is a 12 part series aired on TLC from 2nd October 2014 at 8pm (and may be available on Catch Up/On Demand depending on your provider), and Dr Hakim features in episodes 5 and 8 which discuss EDS and Marfan Syndrome.
