Our Christchurch operations base had a flying visit last week from the superb Bell 429 aeromedical helicopter which is currently on a demonstration tour around New Zealand. The Bell 429 is a lightweight, twin-engine helicopter with a 204 cubic foot main and aft cabin which gives unobstructed full body access to the patient. It has dual stretcher capability with enough room for two medical attendants plus two flight crew members with a 60 inch wide side-loading opening for easy side access. Very smart machine.
