Our Community, Our Vision I run on a platform of 8 ideas that will ensure our community have a clear vision with manageable goals and a comprehensive method to accomplish them. A PLANNED VISION Great communities have a clear vision of the future. This means that all members and departments are consulted to build priorities so that manageable goals are advanced and further developed. We must strongly advocate for the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Community Plan. A plan allows LNIB financial, social, health, cultural, governance and resource priorities to all be addressed in a balanced and informed manner. AN INCLUSIVE VISION Great communities see the value in diverse perspectives. This enables all members despite location, age or previous perspectives to be included in developing a great community. We must encourage our leadership to develop and implement a Youth Council, an Elders Forum and Off Reserve Members Committee that will promote and increase dialogue of all members and encourage voices and ideas not always heard. A SPECIFIC VISION Great communities have the capacity to anticipate problems before they begin. This ensures that unreasonable and indiscriminate policies do not disrupt our vision and our goals. We must be proactive by developing and implementing financial and social structures like a Heritage Fund, an Employment Strategy, and a Health Strategy. These structures will ensure that all members are taken care of in the future. AN INFORMED VISION Great communities are always learning. Our history, language and ways of knowing are the cornerstone of our community. We must safeguard and advance learning in our community by developing a Knowledge and Learning Framework. The framework sets out ways learning, education and knowledge of our membership can best be directed to address community issues. When elected I will strongly advocate and encourage Cheif and Council to proceed with each of these 8 ideas so our community can grow, develop and continue to be great.
