Our Events Fundraiser Claire Hughes was delighted to receive a cheque for £950 last week from F Platoon RHF (Glasgow Highlanders) Army Cadet Force based in Maryhill. Twenty of the Cadets have been busy fundraising and raised sponsorship for taking part in the Yorkhill Sponsored Walk in August. The Detachment Commander, Alan Long asked the cadets to support Yorkhill Childrens Charity for a very special reason – he is taking part in our Everest Base Camp Trek which leaves on Saturday 20th September. Alan signed up to this once in a lifetime trek in 2013 and so far has raised almost £6,000 for Yorkhill Children’s Charity. This is absolutely incredible and we are so grateful for Alan and his cadets support! Good luck on Everest, Alan!
