Our FIVE Monday 6aside Divisions came to an end last night and here are the league winners…. AFC Underdogs (Monday 6aside Premiership) DT2014 (Monday 6aside Championship) White Lightning (Monday 6aside League One) X Ray Raiders (Monday 6aside League Two) Sum 2nd Team (Monday 6aside League Three) Congratulations to all of the teams! Monday Match Reports (07/04/2014): Real Ale Madrid 12 – 11 Real Socialdad MOM: Josh Luckhurst Top Scorer: Barry Wright (6) A fiercely contested game between two of the leagues powerhouses! That’s right, Socialdad v Real Ale! The game started with a high tempo and only one thing was on both teams’ minds and that was the goal! Both teams were firing shots from all over the pitch however in the first few minutes this was to no avail, the ball cannoned of the post & the keepers were getting down well to make some athletic saves. The teams knew that sooner or later the deadlock had to be broken and it was… Real Ale took the lead! After that neither team were about to sit back and invite pressure on to themselves they both pushed & pushed looking for that crucial next goal! If Real Ale got it could Socialdad come back? Before they could think about that scenario Fraser Henderson hit the ball home and all of a sudden Real Ale were looking nervous! Pass, pass, move were the tactics that both teams had employed and it worked, Barry Wright had snuck by the Socialdad defence and made no mistake with the finish, they were back, Real Ale started to look there confident selves and they had the momentum, young Josh Luckhurst wanted in on the action and he stroked the ball past the Socialdad keeper! Socialdad had had enough! They went out hunting for that next goal, the goal that could turn the game on its head! Unfortunately for them Barry Wright once again picked the ball up and hammered it home! Real Ale had the momentum and yet again it was the same two causing trouble, Luckhurst & Wright (LAW) between them getting 11 of the 12 goals! Socialdad did manage to get the scoreline back to within 1 goal however Real Ale were value for money and deserved the victory! Oli-mpic Stone FC 10 – 20 Slumdog Mignolet MOM: Dylan Griffin Top Scorer: Bradley Airstone (6) A Well deserved victory for the Slumdog boys tonight to cement there place at the top of the table! The boys schooled fellow youngsters Oli-mpic Stone who they had previously lost to! Top class performance all round from the boys! Dylan Griffin was instrumental in the victory and played a huge part in providing the goals and passes through to the short & sharp Bradley Airstone who had that deadly touch and the killer finish! Top class boys, can Slumdog keep this run of form going? AFC Underdogs 6 – 1 Borussia MOM: Steve Top Scorer: Liam Ketteridge (2) The boys at the top showed us why they were at the top tonight with a five goal thrashing over opponents Borussia! Borussia were helpless when AFC attacked and they were struggling to put there foot in and rid of the danger! Liam Ketteridge was taking advantage of the vulnerable defence! Scott also managed to get himself on the score sheet! Borussia didn’t go down without a fight however and managed to claw a goal back however it wasn’t enough! Good work Underdogs! White Lightning 4 – 2 6 Inches MOM: Nick Boydell Top Scorer: Declan Parks (2) E-I-E-I-OH UP DIVISION ONE WE GO! White Lightning have done it! The boys have smashes division one and they ended the season in style, a 4-2 Victory over 6 Inches! White Lightning knew they were in for a challenge against the tough tackling of 6 Inches however they were more than up for it! Dec Parks opened the scoring with a brilliant long range effort! The boys didn’t stop there going on to clinch a further 3 goals! The Inches boys put up a sterling effort however it wasn’t enough to stop the mighty White Lightning! (Big Shout out to Dec Parks for ending the season with 56 goals #LovesToBag) X Ray Raiders 4 – 3 Holgate Rovers MOM: Jason Johnson Top Scorer: Danny Rodgers (2) Another team who have achieved promotion made there way on to our write ups tonight! That team is the X-RAY RAIDERS! Well done chaps! The boys must have already been celebrating as they cut it close in an enthralling encounter with Holgate Rovers! The game was real end to end stuff with both teams scoring consecutively! The Raiders however did what they did best and got the ball on the deck and outplayed the Rovers! Well done again boys! Lets carry this on!
