Our Father God, As we gather together today, our souls wait on you in silence...in the stillness of this moment...we ask to feel your presence with us, Lord. We ask to be filled with confidence and Holy boldness. We know that our salvation comes from you...you are the Steady Rock and The Foundation upon which we stand...you are our Defense and our Fortress...no one can move us from your side. Lord, we are told we should wait on you with expectation...you are the God that delivers and protects. King David called you, my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness. He also reminds us in the Psalms that we should trust in you...lean on you... rely on you... and have confidence in you all the time! He reminds us to pour out our hearts before you, because you are our refuge and high tower. Father, as we and our loved ones, face health challenges....as we face heartaches and heartbreaks...as we deal with financial difficulties and troubled relationships...as we hear of more disturbing things in the world and news, we are reminded that we should not be overwhelmed or afraid, because we were told it would be this way...your Word tells us we would hear of wars and rumors of wars and see family members turning against family members and people falling away from the faith...and you told us to fear not, but to keep our hearts and eyes open and be watchful...to be prayerful...and to look to you, because you have made a way for everything that we will face. Father, may we remember WHO we belong to this day...may we remember that all power belongs to you and that you watch over your children as a loving Father who is full of mercy and loving kindness....You fill us with your power... nothing shall be impossible for us to overcome, because we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength. Lord, to you, one day is as a thousand years...there are many who are missing their loved ones terribly...it seems like so long since they have been with them and they are filled with longing, Lord... may they find comfort as they mediate on your word and realize that when they are reunited, it shall be as if no time has passed at all. When we are hurting, time drags on and seems like our pain is infinite...but our feelings and emotions deceive us...our lives our like a vapor and pass so quickly...and this earthly life, is as but a moment, in our eternal lives...oh, Father, may we lean on you and keep pressing forward in your strength and with your vision. May we seize firmly... not timidly...all that you offer us. Great are you, Lord and so worthy to be praised! May we serve you well today and may we bring glory to your name, as we look forward with hopeful expectation to what you will do in us and through us.
