Our Field Trip to Mikes Farm is tomorrow! We are hoping to have our T-shirts in. If they are not in in time for this field trip we are guaranteed to have them in time for our future field trips and events. It is important for our students to be easily recognizable to the teachers and chaperones. Therefore, we would like all of our students to have a field trip T-shirts or to wear a red colored shirt to identify our “kids”. Some parents have asked if it is possible to still attend the field trip. As long as you contact your teacher and make plans by this evening, we can still reserve a spot. However, it is too late order more lunches (so you will have to bring your own lunch). I am providing some additional information on the field trip below. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask. Hope you all have a blessed day! Tomorrow we will meet at Mikes Farm at 10:15, our tour will begin promptly at 10:30. The tour begins with an old fashioned hayride around the farm. Children will learn about nature, the way crops grow, the harvesting of pumpkins, strawberries, and the production of Christmas trees. The wagon will stop at our “Sugar Pie” patch for everyone to pick out their own pumpkin during pumpkin season. At the next stop, learn how cider is made from an old timey cider mill. Finish the tour watching and listening to Granny Mae share her memories of days gone by, while she tends her garden and makes homemade Lye soap. She is sure to entertain the children once again. Each child will receive an educational coloring book to reinforce the material learned on their tour. After our tour we will visit the farm animals, visit the play area, and have lunch.
