Our Goals and Objectives: 1.Restore, manage and maintain the Moravian Missionaries heritage site in New River/Carmel 2.Repair and maintain the roads leading to and from New River/Carmel 3.Promote and sustain community-based tourism in the community 4.Enhance our cottage industry and recreational venues 5.Improve and maintain the infrastructure of the playfield 6.Promote youth development through sports and education 7.Maintain the culverts and water ways in New River/Carmel 8.Build and maintain a community center/shelter and a basic school 9.Establishment and maintenance of fish and shrimp sanctuaries 10.Preservation of the environment to include the plants, animals and the upper morass which is a protected area 11.Enhance the capacity of community members to self-manage 12.Improve the living conditions of the citizens of New River/Carmel 13.Engage the Diaspora in community development efforts 14.Promote volunteerism, commitment and goodwill among residents
