Our Granddaughter Ellies third grade class presented a Veterans Day tribute program this evening. It was fantastic and as I sat there watching these little ones sing and speak about freedom, our country, sacrifice and honor I began to get very emotional. The kids touched me deeply and as I sat there remembering where I was on Nov. 11, 1968 I had to fight back tears, not because of where I was in 1968, but just from the shear joy in watching these little ones sing tonight, knowing that so many Vets didnt make it home to be able sit in a school gym and watch their grandchild pay tribute to them for their service. May God Grant them Peace Eternal. (Our Ellie is in the middle, second row from the top in the tan sweater with the American Flag on the front. ) Ellie, thank you and your classmates for a very special night.
