Our Kindergarten students learn to use stencils in their artworks in class - enabling them to create images or patterns that could be difficult to do by hand. Stencil (n.): a device for applying a pattern, design, or words to a surface, consisting of a thin sheet of material from which figures or letters have been cut out and then filled in with paint, markers, pencils, or ink. The example we would like to share with you is Department of Public Words giant stencils used for their #MononLoveTrain. Be sure to check out their eye-catching work on Monon Trail between 54th and 52nd Street!
