Our Lady Bird Lake walk stopped short yesterday morning. As we crossed Longhorn Dam and made our way along the trail, we heard a pitiful cat cry from a nearby tree. I walked over to the tree and found the cry coming from the ground, near the trunk. I grubbed around under the tree until I found the tiniest black-and-white kitten that I had ever seen. I snatched the kitten up and placed it into Virginias hat. One vet trip later, we have a new cat at the house. The new cat, a boy, is named Frisco. He is about 4 weeks old, and weighs a total of 10 ounces! We have no idea as to how he became separated from his mother, but he wouldnt have made it long in the park alone. Our other cats are in varying states of shock, but it seems as though they are going to sort through the various pecking orders without much blood being drawn. In the meantime, Frisco is living in a sock drawer beside my bed.
