Our Octanic Fire Relief Tshirt fundraiser is staying open a little while longer for anyone who still wants to be part of it but was a bit strapped for cash following New Years etc. We are nearly up to $700 and would really love to push it over the $1000 mark. Adelaide Metal Unites \m/ The 2015 Adelaide bushfire disaster was a horrific event. Many homes, cars and animals were lost and people injured. There was also though much evidence of heroic efforts of volunteers and emergency services. For the Adelaide metal scene it became sadly personal. In camp SE BON KI RA we are grateful that drummer of much loved Adelaide favourites Octanic, Scott Powell and family, remained safe and well throughout but we are saddened that tragically their home was lost in the fire. Feeling the need to do something but only having a few options at our fingertips we hope that you get behind us in the spirit in which this is intended and show that in times of hardship our tight metal family, yet often misunderstood scene, is capable of incredible compassion. We are offering the pictured t-shirt design as a ‘pay what you want’ thing, with all money that we receive while our stocks of this design last going to Scott Powell and family of Adelaide metal band Octanic. The regular price of the t-shirt is $25 however we will not be keeping any of the amounts that you choose to pay as it will all be given directly to Scott in the interests of our metal brother and sisterhood. As you well know, when one of us gets knocked down the rest pick us up. This is as true in the pit as it is in other areas of life. Most messages back from us will be sent after normal business hours due to work commitments, thanks for your understanding. PAYMENTS Please include your full name (as it appears on your Facebook account) in the description when making your bank transfer. We have chosen to use direct deposit into our band bank account for this as there will be no loss of the funds raised such as there is when PayPal is used for example and a percentage is taken by Paypal per transaction. This means that the full amount of each payment will get to Scott and family. We have already transferred $400 from the first batch of orders and will transfer the remainder at the conclusion of the fundraiser to help with any of the Powell familys needs following their loss.
