Our Plans NYC JEWISH CULTURE - For this year (5744), I am planning some ventures into New York City’s rich Jewish offerings, including a visit to the Jewish Museum – which is free on Shabbat!! For those who wish, we would meet at the museum – transportation is on your own and then join for lunch at a local restaurant. Similarly, there are fascinating eventful exhibits throughout the City which are best enjoyed individually and afterwards, discussed in a group setting over tea or coffee. NYC JEWISH PHOTO EXCURSIONS – If you enjoy photography like me, you will enjoy visiting and capturing remaining Jewish sites on the Lower East Side which are slowly disappearing. Where on lots have arisen new enterprises and the flavor of the Old Lower East Side has disappeared, its stories have not. For that, we have the likes of Big Onion; its historians who can guide us through the urban transformation, yet verbally conjure up the past.
