Our SSC swimmers competed in the CPAC Holiday Invitational Meet this past weekend at Chelsea Piers in Connecticut. This was our annual December travel meet, and everyone had a lot of fun and swam fast! We had 45 swimmers compete in the meet, and of their 375 swims over the course of the weekend, 248 of them were best times, a rate of 66%. Two out of every three swims, in prelims and finals, were best times! Our swimmers also dropped a total of just over 782 seconds, or an average of 2.08 seconds dropped for every swim of the meet. These are fantastic results! Congratulations to everyone that competed. This meet was a tremendous way to cap off the beginning of our short course season! Special thanks to the families that sacrificed a weekend for the sake of our swimmers. We appreciate your support and dedication to our sport and our club. New Team Records: We had thirteen (13) new team records established at the CPAC meet this past weekend. Morgan Lee broke the 8&U girls team record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:34.11. Jessica Freund set a new team record in the 13-14 girls 100 freestyle with a time of 54.73. Jocelyn Fisher broke three 13-14 girls team records in the 500 freestyle (5:16.19), 100 breaststroke (1:07.19), and 200 breaststroke (2:25.68). David Granucci set two new team records in the 8&U boys 50 backstroke (37.59) and 100 backstroke (1:22.97). Chris Varrichio broke the team record in the 11-12 boys 50 breaststroke with a time of 38.09. Mark Owens set two new team records in the 11-12 boys 200 free (2:00.66) and 100 IM (1:03.40). George Kipshidze broke the team record in the 11-12 boys 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:40.03. Vincent Budke set two new team records in the 13-14 boys 200 backstroke (2:06.85) and 200 butterfly (2:09.07).
