Interested candidates, please send resume to bhargav@eappstech Position: Business Data Analyst Location: San Francisco, CA Rate: Negotiable Duration: 6+ Months Job Description • Overall Objective: Extraction of customer data from various sources and system environments, and transforming and storing this data in a central repository for the project team. Duties to include but not limited to: · Perform extensive data analysis on “As-Is” data from data extracted: o Identify data anomalies o Aggregate, roll-up and/or summarize data o Conduct gap analysis on available data o Identify sets of primary/foreign keys and link data across various systems using these key-sets o Additional ad-hoc analysis as required · Assist with the collection and management of new data, while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of existing data · Work with project team to document and maintain the metadata and business rules · Collaborate with the project team to develop and enforce methods and validation mechanisms for ensuring data quality and accuracy in the project’s DB · Review existing SAS code used for data extraction and transformation, and be able to translate such code into SQL, VB, or other programming languages · Assist with the design and development of systemic workflow processes · Provide expertise, and work with the project team on the establishment of business-customer hierarchies · Develop metrics and reporting requirements for on-going monitoring of the bank’s data · Create documentation as requested by project team (data extraction and transformation requirements, logical database design, physical databasedesign, etc.) · Additional project related tasks as needed including but not limited to project management, project documentation, business requirementsdocumentation. Requirements: · Extensive data mining experience (data quality, root cause analysis, data anomalies, trends and patterns, etc.) · Database query experience using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, SAS, and Teradata · Strong knowledge of relational Databases · Data Governance experience · Able to translate existing data extraction/transformation logic from SAS to other programming languages · Strong business acumen · Capable of reverse-engineering SQL coding, in order to document business rules · Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) · Able to present results in a clear, concise, and business-oriented manner · Strong leadership skills · Capable of working independently with minimal supervision but able to work in a team environment when needed Preferred: · Commercial lending background or financial background · Knowledge of Fuzzy-Logic matching criteria for customer data cleansing · Expert in PowerPoint and Excel
