Our Sister from USWW reminds us that we are now half in the shadows and half in the light. We are grateful this Thanksgiving for the hope that has been brought to so many. But gratitude isnt only to be expressed by what we are able to receive, but also by what we are able to give. Congress can give all 11 million a path to citizenship. As President Barack Obama said, they can pass a bill before the end of the year. We can also give. We can give what we have given for these last several years. We can give Solidarity with all those who are poor and marginalized. We can give Dignity to all those who are made invisible by apathy or ignorance. We can give Justice by continuing to push unrelentingly until the broken immigration system is fixed because that is what all of our families deserve, and it is what all of our fellow Americans deserve!
