Our Sunday afternoon is coming to an end with temperatures up around 90 in some places. 2 changes are coming that models are pointing to. The first is a weak backdoor front which will turn the wind to the east and take temperatures back to the 60s on Tuesday. Then another warmup into Thursday ahead of a more important cold front that sets us up for much cooler weather Friday and into next weekend. It cant stay warm like this for more than a few days. This is a rather extended stay for the ridge of high pressure in the east. The northern jet stream which is non existent right now will establish itself later this week. And longer range that jet will persist so it will mean a change in air masses every few days. As far as rain goes there may be some showers with the front on Thursday but overall the pattern remains very very dry.
